Maestro Peter Bay returns to Prescott to open Arizona Philharmonic’s fifth season with a joyful program. Argento’s Royal Invitation is a humorous ballet score on the famous appearance of a charming Tongan queen at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Pianist and Steinway Artist Thomas Pandolfi performs Felix Mendelssohn’s brilliant Piano Concerto No. 1. The concert closes with Beethoven’s exuberant Symphony No. 7, a work that Richard Wagner famously called the “apotheosis of the dance.”
